The only thing that matters in religion and spirituality is direct personal experience and realization and verification. Without this, all the rest is futile and useless.

The spiritual quest is necessarily an individual and solitary -and even lonely- adventure.

Every step gained on the spiritual path is a permanent gain, and can never be lost.

The heart has ways of knowing which exceed anything the mind can conceive of.

The eye of wisdom sees nothing but unity and harmony and synthesis everywhere it looks - that plus simplicity. Every great truth is wonderfully simple.

Most of the errors of the human mind are due not to some fundamental untruth, but rather to the mind“s taking a too one-sided view of truth.

No religion, no philosophy and no science can ever have a monopoly on truth.

Not in exclusive possession, but in universal acceptance is found the hallmark of truth.

Never take physical events at their face value. They are all merely symbols - and clumsy symbols at that - of some interior conditions which escape our superficial understanding.

Never belief anything unless it tallies with your experience of the world.

All the evil in the affairs of men can be ascribed to one factor: fear.

Focus on the positive, and the negative will wither away of its own accord due to lack of attention (and hence nourishment).

Giving without expecting the least reward is itself the greatest reward for giving.

No being in the universe should ever be judged by the standards of another being. Each is great in his/her/its place.

Never think of yourself as stupid. The level of your intelligence is tailor-made for achieving your mission on the planet. And so is everything else in your life.

You are right where you are supposed to be. If you needed to be somewhere else, you would be somewhere else.

If you cannot express love and service to those in your immediate surroundings, how can you expect to express love and service to the world?

You can only be faithful in large things when you have learned to be faithful in small things.

Is it honest, pure, loving and unselfish? If it is, it comes from God; if it isn“t, it doesn“t come from God.

Are you having reservations about divulging to others what you think is true because you believe it is too simple and obvious to merit mentioning? Remember that what seems obvious to you may not at all be obvious to other people, and may even come to them as something of a revelation . . .

How can you expect to draw closer to God when you give him/her scarcely one single thought in your day-to-day life?

All self-conscious effort is self-defeating. You think profound and beautiful thoughts only when you have no conscious intention to think such thoughts.

Spontaneity is the hallmark of inspiration.

No wordly acclaim or esteem will have the least attraction to you once you realize that you are a child of God. You can“t go any higher than that!

To be ignored by the world matters not a jot to the man who knows that he will never be ignored by God.

The only purpose of religion is to churn out saints. Aside from this, it has no purpose whatsoever.

Could it be that your constant state of discontent, remorse and feeling “stuck“ stems from the simple fact that the will of your personality is not in tune with the will of your soul?

You are only the custodian of everything you think you“possess“. It all belongs to God, and you get the tremendous privilege and responsibility of tending it for him/her.

Your life is God“s gift to you. What you do with that life is your gift to God.

Life is a journey where the journey itself is as - if not more - important than the destination.

God knows we can rise above the darkest hour of any circumstance.

Morality and ethics are not the final goal, but without them it is impossible to reach the final goal.

You have no right to break a law unless and until you are ready for a higher law.

The only sin a man can commit is to think of himself or others as sinners.

Most people are far better than they give themselves credit for.

If you turn the other cheek although you are strong enough to resist the attack, it is a virtue; if you turn the other cheek because you are too weak to resist, it is a blemish.

Every addiction is a secret longing for God.

All the wisdom which humanity will ever need has been revealed to the world a million times. The only thing missing is for more human beings to live in accordance with that wisdom.

Never take anything for granted - least of all your friends and loved ones. They may be gone tomorrow.

Live each day as if it were your last day on earth - because, who knows: it just might be!

Why fear death? Death is necessary renewal, that“s all.

The central insight of religion is that even at their best, human beings still sense there is something missing.

Mere believing is so futile. If you cannot bring about conscious contact with God, you are in reality an atheist.

The man who thinks the lowest of his highest achievements has reached that humility which is one of the prerequisites for seeing God.

"I want to be a spiritual giant" is a far worse form of egoism than "I want to rule all the world."

Man seeks God, it is true, but it is even more true that God seeks man.

The sunlight of God“s grace is perpetually beating against the windows of your soul, but you have to push aside the curtains to let the light in.

God loves each human being as if it were the only human being in the world.

To doubt that you can manifest divinity some fine day is to doubt the divinity in you.

- And finally, this wondrous and infallible promise: For every step you take towards God, he takes ten steps towards you. Smile
